I ended up taking Elijah back to the ER on Monday, he was complaining that his eyes were burning and the couldn't open them.
Well, we get there, and he is walking around like a blind child. Then while waiting, he starts screaming out in pain and crying, and asking when can he go in the back. I hold him and tell him we have to wait.
I assume because of his crying is the reason they quickly called us back, and sat him down to talk to him. He immediatley started rocking back and forth saying his eyes hurt and his tummy hurt, and kept whining that he wanted to go to a bed in the back of the ER. Well, they sent us right back and as soon as he laid down I saw his face and actions change.
After about an hour of the doctor trying to get him to cooperate and talk him (they looked at his eyes, put in numbing drops...after this he was like...."My eyes are better now")...the doctor told me that they could do a spinal because if his symptoms were real, then he said it might be meningitis. I said, if it is necessary, ok. Well, the doctor left the room and I talked to Elijah, told them they were gonna put a needle in his back and he was immediatly better and wanted to go home.
Well, they had another doctor come in too, said that if I felt he needed a full range of tests that they would do it, but it was their feeling that he was putting on to get attention. After seeing his quick change in attitudes/symptoms and such I thought so too. So, we were discharged and had a follow up at the peds clinic today at 1pm. But before we went home, and since he was still complaining about his eyes burning I bought him some allergy medicine and some rewetting eye drops. He loves the drops, wanted them constantly...ugh.
When he woke up today, he was still acting like it hurt to open his eyes, and had to be led around by myself or his brother so he wouldn't run into things. Although he would open them for a little after I would put rewetting drops in.
At the doctor, he was examined, the doctor questioned him...then had he and his brother go out of the room so he could talk to me. He told me Elijah was fine and nothing was wrong other than maybe some allergies causing his eyes to be dry or itchy. But that Elijah was putting on a real good act to get attention. He prescribed him some allergy meds and allergy eye drops to use twice a day, and send us over to labs for some blood work for elijah. I told them I wanted him tested for allergies and also for gluten allergies since we have those in the family. Elijah was a trooper, didnt' cry, didn't scream, just said 'ouch.' Once we walked out of the lab he immediately was able to open his eyes again. We will know the results of the blood test in a week 1/2.
Please pray for my nerves and depression right now...it is hard handling a kid who is having issues when his daddy is away. Ugh. Also please pray for peace of mind for Elijah.

WOW I hope this all helps ease your mind and calm him down a bit! You will all be in our prayers!
Wow Elijah didn't cry during blood work??!! He is a trooper! Seeings that he can be soo dramatic, I thought I'd hear how you had to hold him down..you and a army that is! LOL! I am glad there is nothing really wrong with him.Well I guess when the test results come back you will really know, and then you will have to figure out a way these events are less attention getting for him. Have you thought about asking the Dr for a placebo for him..just in case he really believes there is something wrong with him? Anyway sorry you are going through so much. Love, Your Sis!!
