Well, it is 2013 and I have neglected the family update blog horribly. A lot has happened over the past few years. Some good, some bad, but overall good. Last time I posted Huck (Hal) and I had been to Italy. It was an AMAZING trip! No fancy trips since then, but life has been busy.
Huck transfered with the Navy to Jacksonville University where he taught for a few years and earned his masters degree in business. I have also been at JU, working on my English and Humanities bachelors degrees. Yes, double major. I love English and Humanities. I have loved English for as long as I can remember, but my love of the Humanities began in Italy...although I didn't realize it yet. I didn't even know what studying Humanities meant. Now I am studying the art, literature, music and cultures of other countries. I do love it very much. I have a year left until I graduate and it has been under free family tuition until now. Huck has changed duty stations and is overseas so in the fall I have no idea how we will pay for the remaining year. But Huck assures me not to worry that we will figure it out and I will finish on time. School has been extremely hard but I have maintained Dean's list status since I enrolled and now have made the President's list and have made it into Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society. I am very proud and can hardly believe I have excelled this much. I never thought I would go to a four year college and now I am doing excellent and taking care of family at the same time.
The kids are doing well. Christian is doing excellent in the Aerospace program at his high school and he has two years left until he graduates. He is such a great kid...never sasses me or causes any trouble. And I can't believe he is about to turn 18 at the end of the year. Elijah is a sweetheart and has some struggles in school but we are working through them. He will be going to Lighthouse Christian school in the fall. The boys really miss their dad but we are hanging in there.
Huck is coming home in december to visit for Christian's 18th birthday. He has been gone for 3 months, and we have 9 months left to go before he comes home. I'm sure we will find out soon where we will be stationed next. I kinda want to move and kinda don't. I have great friends here, but no family. I will never really have family here except for Huck and the boys. So I am looking forward to us all going on an adventure together. Huck is going to try for Hawaii if it's available. That would be interesting. I'm sure a hard move but interesting I'm sure. As long as I can take my birdies I have no problem with going to Hawaii. :-)
I will try to update more often and not wait another three years.
